When you print a Hud-1 Settlement Statement, a substitute IRS form 1099-S is automatically printed on the bottom of the Hud-1 form.

In order to file Copy A of form 1099-S with IRS, Alta Star HUD LITE prints information from the Hud-1 form onto blank IRS 1099-S forms. Copy A of form 1099-S (to be filed with IRS) must be printed on original blank IRS forms. Laser substitutes or photocopies of form 1099-S are not acceptable to IRS and there is a penalty for using an unacceptable substitute. IRS forms are available free of charge.
